Land&Wine Who says US rates will go up for real? Maybe the Fed's endlessly extended expectation will do. No real rise yet but there has been worried talk of liquidity problems all along. Bears may gasp for breath as the very idea of de-leveraging seems to evaporate. Unperturbed, the ageing bull isn't roaring but keeps … Continue reading updates – Crash? What Crash!
book review- David Orrell's impressive, intelligent and imaginative bomb of a book is a highly recommended read for all connoisseurs of curiosity and hope and an absolute must-read for would-be economists. - Before you invest years of your time and 1000s of your dollars to practice 101 Mankiw, take time to read this book. Don't pay big bucks before you've read this quantum leap of a mind-bender destroying incumbent thought like there is a tomorrow. It'll reach parts of your quantum brain you could never code into clockwork DSGE. Read this book to reconsider the relevant marginal utilites. Especially if you are a bit of a quant, a bit nerdy or a bit curious.

Watch Blair Fix talk about how corporate hierarchies create income inequality, and make the rich get richer. "This paper explores the idea that the (re)distribution of top incomes is uniform because it is shaped by a ubiquitous feature of social life, namely hierarchy. Using a model first developed by Herbert Simon and Harold Lydall, I show … Continue reading Breaking Old News: HIERARCHY REDISTRIBUTES INCOME – US Inequality for Quants – by Blair Fix
Sklavenfreier Zucker? So versprechen …
I am copping out of my CoP post. I am way off target. Instead of editing my article reviews I got lost in a meandering mishmash of a maybe essay on money, value and growth. Like "Growth! What Growth?" Trying to think (too) big was probably inspired by the Dawn of Everything. I've had too … Continue reading Cop-out CoP and the elephant in the room

Privately educated aristocratic diplomat and financial adviser Alfred Mitchel Innes is another famously marginalised non-academic non-economist. Based on real world knowledge and private research his seminal exposition of a credit theory of money was irrefutable enough even at the time for J M Keynes to nod approvingly (as he also did toward Yap Money and … Continue reading Alfred Mitchel Innes
Doch letztere sieht The Economist heutzutage in der polarisierten US, Brexitland und praktisch weltweit.
I was about to leave my bookshop empty handed when I spotted a money title from an author not male, not middle-aged and not white: "We Need to Talk About Money" by Otegha Uwagba. A rare book indeed! So collectible I bought the pricey hardback. Having read it I have no regrets. Like Bourdieu, … Continue reading Pierre Bourdieu in Millenial Pink: ‘We need to talk about Money.’
This review serves up some excellent articles, including CasP's Blair Fix on the "Ritual of Capitalisation", John Komlos on the US economy, and Radhika Desai with Michael Hudson on the "Dollar Creditocracy". But it is Ib Ravn's "educational" article on banking, money creation and credit money that stands out as a uniquely comprehensible introduction to the real existing money system. Highly recommended!

Looks as if just before the yachting season BoE economists have allowed themselves another peek beyond the pale of the classic Savings&Loans specs: ... "No existing studies that address the comovement puzzle account for the empirical movements in bank equity and credit spreads (see eg DiCecio (2009); Sterk (2010); Carlstrom and Fuerst (2009); Katayama and Kim (2013); Di Pace … Continue reading BoE nudging mainstreamers toward re-discovery of credit channel ?

Anthony Gormley has suggested turning Cecil Rhodes statue to face the wall in shame. My suggestion is meant to be a bit more explicit. A slave collar points to the history of racism as a rationalisation of slavery.
